About

The Rainbow Vacuum Cleaner project explores the mythical Rainbow vacuum cleaner, a remarkably expensive home appliance that appeared in Poland following the collapse of communism in 1989.  The piece explored themes of consumerism, desire and the cult of cleanliness and success. It was directed by Paul Bargetto and performed by Marta Król, Grzegorz Sierzputowski, and Tomasz Sobczak with production design by Agnieszka Kaczyńska and premiered at Jaga Hupało’s Studio as part of Warsaw Night of Museums in 2014.
